The Unrivaled Popularity of Pepperoni
Pepperoni is the king of pizza toppings in America, with surveys indicating that it adorns more than two-thirds of all pizzas ordered. This spicy sausage, an Italian-American innovation, is beloved for its perfect blend of salty and savory flavors. Interestingly, its name derives from the Italian word for bell peppers, 'peperoni,' which often confounds Italian visitors who might expect a different dish entirely.

Why Locals Love It
Customer Reviews
"Best pizza and Italian food for delivery around! We have pretty much never had a bad meal from them and order almost once a week! Good portions, usually get at least two meals out of our order. Call and order directly, the staff is great, and the customer service is great, not like using the delivery app middlemen that don't care about service at all!"
"I was stuck at the airport today picking up my kid, and because of the multiple storms, I was waiting since 4pm. I placed an order for a pie thinking I'd definitely be able to pick it up by 10:30 (close). Wrong. I called and explained I'd be late, a guy & gal I spoke to went above and beyond to help make sure I got my order even after closing. Even called me back to tell me what they'd do. Pizza was great, but I inhaled it cold, need to go back for fresh pizza, but I can say for sure customer service is TOP TIER."
"Our favorite pizza place in Stamford. We have actually never been to the restaurant as we always find it easy to order it home. They have been amazing every time and the service is great too. Toppings anyone can make, but the bread is what counts. Their base is extremely soft and crispy at the same time and they taste great even on the next day!"

From Ontario with Pineapple: The Hawaiian Pizza Story
Contrary to its name, Hawaiian pizza, featuring pineapple and ham, was concocted far from the tropics in 1962 by Sam Panopoulos in Ontario, Canada. This Greek-Canadian restaurateur's experiment with sweet and salty flavors became surprisingly popular, especially in North America and Australia. Despite sparking a global debate among pizza aficionados, this unconventional topping combination remains a staple for those who appreciate its unique taste.
Pizza's Global Footprint: A $145 Billion Industry
Pizza is much more than a beloved dish; it's a massive global industry valued at approximately $145 billion. This staggering figure includes the diverse range of pizzas found worldwide, from Italian classics to novel iterations like Japanese teriyaki or Indian paneer variants. This economic impact underscores pizza's universal appeal and adaptability, making it a fixture in countless culinary traditions.

Record-Breaking Pizza: A Slice of Epic Proportions
In 2012, Los Angeles hosted the creation of the world's largest pizza, a gluten-free marvel named 'Ottavia,' spanning over 13,500 square feet. This colossal pizza, equivalent in size to about ten basketball courts, was crafted in honor of the ancient Roman emperor Octavian Augustus. Such feats highlight pizza's ability to inspire grandeur and creativity beyond the bounds of a typical dining experience.
