"As always, Martino’s did not disappoint! We were in the area today, and after a long afternoon of car shopping nearby, there was no doubt that Martino’s was the only place to get dinner from. We drive almost an hour back to New York and we load up like we are bears getting ready for hibernation. No joke. Martino’s ABEETZ is always crispy and cooked to perfection. Tom and his staff are so welcoming and friendly, you feel like you’ve known them for years. ❀️ We don’t know Tommy, his family, or any of his staff, and actually live just under an hour away, but even on a busy night, they all still make it a point to greet and welcome you with a smile. The hospitality alone is worth the drive. Even if we’re not in the area, Martino’s overall is worth the drive. Their food is made with love and is always consistent. Thank you as always! (Not pictured: 3 pies, 2 dozen wings, garlic knots, meatball hero, 2 orders of meatballs, another meatball salad, and a chicken caesar salad wrap). We went light tonight! πŸ˜‰"

"I was in the area, I remembered to stop here and try. Heard about the place from the owners Tik Tok. He does a good job on tik tok so I always wanted to try the joint out but im never in that area. Im glad I stopped by. Its take out only, just a counter when you walk in. Theres a bunch of high school seniors working there very friendly crew. I ordered the Margheita pizza in the 14 inch medium. The pizza was beautiful when I opened the box. I loved how they dressed it. Pizza held itself together it wasnt floppy, and it has a crunch on every bite. The pizza was cooked well done which I appreciate. The sauce has a nice herby taste, dough perfect balance of lightly sweet with salty. I took the picture in my car, and proceeded to finish all but 2 slices before i got home. They did their this margherita. I am going back tomorrow or the next day to try a plain cheese. If it goes as well as this one did, then this place is in my top 5 in CT. I only judge top places off of plain cheeses. Edit: I revisited and bought a large cheese this time. Pizza was BEAUTIFUL. Looked like a cartoon pizza and cooked connecticut /NH style well done. If you want it cooked regular you may have to ask im not sure. For me this was perfect. There was some slight grease pool , very small in the middle area, dripping when I took a slice. It wasnt too much and it did not affect how the dough held up. This dough is a strong dough and takes the grease like a champ. I loved this pizza. Just look at the picture of this pizzar its a work of art. Martinos is in my top 4. When I think of getting a pizza now theyre at the top of my list. Note: between the 2, the margherita was crunchier probably because there isnt a bunch of mozz on it. One or the other is better depending on what you prefer. For me, ill probably be ordering 1 of each everytime I come here because theyre both so good. had the buffalo mild or medium great wings too. Between the pizza and wings this place deserves your attention, reader. Go !"

The Tomato's Journey: From Suspect to Staple

The tomato, a key ingredient in modern pizza, was initially met with suspicion when introduced to Europe from the Americas in the 16th century. Europeans believed tomatoes were poisonous due to their affiliation with the nightshade family. However, by the 18th century, tomatoes were embraced in Neapolitan cuisine, transforming the simple flatbread into the flavorful pizza we know today.

The Science of Pizza Making: Perfecting the Crust

The key to a perfect pizza lies in its crust, which is achieved through a scientific understanding of dough fermentation and baking. Traditional Neapolitan dough, made with just four ingredients, undergoes a long fermentation process for optimal flavor and texture. Baking at high temperatures in a wood-fired oven creates the characteristic leopard spots, adding depth to the pizza's taste.
